Richard Gauld Tree Specialist pride ourselves on being a waste free and environmentally friendly business.
Our aim is to recycle at least 90% of arisings from our work. It is our policy that before commencement of any work, and normally at the time of quotation we discuss the impact of waste materials.
All brash/brushwood is processed on site using our wood chipper machinery, and either left for customers use or removed for conversion to compost to be recycled as garden mulch or animal bedding. We only burn arisings if absolutely necessary to agreed regulations and practices. Logs can be left on site for future use or for collection by the Winter Fuels Programme for processing into firewood. If removal of heavy timber is required, necessary equipment is arranged for efficient removal with minimal disturbance.
We are currently a supporter of the Winter Fuels Programme, managed by Dumfries & Galloway Community Payback Service. This involves the donation of timber for use by elderly members of the local community who are in fuel poverty, and cannot afford wood fuels for their open fires/woodburning stoves.
There are currently 300 recipients across Dumfries & Galloway who benefit from the Winter Fuels Programme, each of whom have wood delivered between October and March when available.
At Richard Gauld, Tree Specialist, we remove and donate any unwanted or leftover timber from our client’s jobs, saving you the hassle and cost of getting rid of it, and ensure the availability of wood for the Programme.
